The Scientific Research Council (SRC) at Antonine University (UA) is composed ex officio of the Rector, the Vice Rector for Research (VRR), the directors of the research units, and the research officers from faculties without research units. The SRC also welcomes, as observers (non-voting members), the Director and Coordinator of the UA Press, the Director of the Library, and the Research Coordinator. The Rector updates the composition of the SRC at the beginning of the Fall Semester of each academic year.
The Council ordinarily meets three times a year, and as needed, under the leadership of the Rector and upon convocation by the VRR acting on his behalf. It reviews the documents submitted by the VRR and deliberates democratically (by consensus or by vote) on the following:
- the proposed University strategy for scientific research;
- the annual projects of UA’s autonomous research units;
- the provisional budget of the Vice Rectorate for Research;
- the provisional budgets allocated to research across UA;
- the general guidelines and standards governing scientific publications produced and edited by UA;
- the general guidelines and standards governing scientific events organized by UA;
- the annual proposals for electronic databases available to UA researchers.
