    Podcast: Is It the Future of Storytelling?

    In light of the monthly Les Jeudis de l’InfoCom series organized by the Faculty of Information and Communication (FIC) at Antonine University (UA), the Department of Audiovisual is hosting an on-campus workshop, which will also be live-streamed on UA’s official Instagram page, entitled Podcast: Is It the Future of Storytelling? tackling podcasts’ origin, development, role, and types, but more importantly how they are changing storytelling.

    A podcast is a digital audio file that is made available on the internet for download or streaming. Typically, podcasts are created as a series of episodes, which are released on a regular basis, and can cover a wide range of topics, from news and politics to entertainment and comedy. They can be distributed through a variety of channels and have become increasingly popular in recent years as a way for people to consume audio content on-demand, and they offer a convenient and flexible way to stay informed, entertained, and engaged with the world around us.

    Speakers: Ms. Michele Jabbour and Mr. Salam El Zaatari

    Ms. Jabbour is a filmmaking instructor with over 20 years of experience in the media production industry. Apart from her duties as a UA Instructor at the FIC’s Department of Audiovisual, she works as a consultant and podcast producer.

    Mr. El Zaatari is a producer and director with over 20 years of experience in television production and content creation. His background includes investigative and political journalism, in addition to hosting On Air Podcast around socio-political matters.
