Understanding vertigo means going beyond the symptom to explore diagnosis, posture, and balance in all their dimensions.
“Vertigo: From Differential Diagnosis to Vestibulo-Postural Rehabilitation” is a training session organized by the Department of Physical Therapy (DPT) at Antonine University (UA), held at the Mejdlaya–Zgharta Campus. This academic initiative is open to anyone seeking to deepen their understanding and management of vertigo and balance disorders, through an approach that is at once clinical, functional, and human-centered.
Session Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- explain the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system and their role in postural control;
- distinguish between the principal causes of peripheral and central vertigo;
- identify warning signs that require medical referral;
- conduct a clinical assessment leading from symptom to functional diagnosis;
- apply tailored vestibular rehabilitation strategies;
- integrate postural and cervical dimensions into patient management;
- understand the psycho-emotional impact of instability and vertigo.
