UA Christmas Carol Concert | Antonine University

  • UA Christmas Carol Concert

    21 December 2021

Despite the fact that this year has been challenging to many of us, Antonine University (UA) has succeeded in spreading Christmas cheer and contagious enthusiasm to the UA Community, namely the deans, directors, faculty, staff, and students, as well as to external members, whose faces were lit up during the concert titled “Sing Along, Best of Christmas” that took place on December 20, 2021, at 7:30 PM at the Lady of the Seeds Monastery on the UA’s main campus in Hadat – Baabda.

The concert featured the musical performance of the UA Choir led by Conductor Dr. Toufic Maatouk, and was accompanied by soloists soprano Mira Akiki, mezzo-soprano Grace Medawar, tenor Charles Eid, bass-baritone Cesar Naasy, and pianist Marc Karam.

The audience felt immersed in the Christmas spirit and captivated with the singing of the traditional Christmas Carol, which reminded every singly participant of the importance of nurturing the core Christmas values that are sometimes overlooked in our everyday life. The Rector warmly greeted the Choir — the pride of the University — at the end of the concert, as the singers were able to spread the festive feelings and the Christmas vibes around, despite the hard times we are going through.

As Christmas is the celebration of love, it has the power to unite people and enlighten their souls. It is also our last remaining hope that a change for the better is always possible.
