    Compliance and data protection are both growing fields of practice across multiple areas of banking, auditing and law. More and more, organizations are now putting these issues among their most important corporate governance concerns.

    In an effort to reinforce its bridge with the professional world, the Department of Accounting, Control, and Auditing at the FBA organized on the 12th current a webinar on the subject of “Electronic Payments: Challenges, Risks, Data Protection, and Future Perspectives”.

    The webinar was conducted by Ms. Nadine Ghosn Eid (CAMS), a consultant and active practitioner in private banking, compliance, electronic payments, data protection, and money laundering. Ms. Eid is currently Head of Compliance Department at areeba sal, and certified in Financial Derivatives Module, Securities, and FSA Regulations from the "Chartered Institute For Securities & Investments”.

    In her lecture, Ms. Eid started by exposing the fact that the payment industry is increasingly subject to a lot of challenges and money laundering risks. She gave a presentation on the various types of electronic payments with a look at the expected future evolution of the contactless credit cards, the payments with mobile devices, the wearable technology, the biometric payment, the voice payments, and the blockchain technology. At a second stage, she explained how to mitigate anti-money laundering risks by implementing official security standards to assess the data protection impact assessment (DPIA). Finally, she discussed how the data security measures should be implemented in each company.

    The webinar was attended by a large number of practitioners, faculty members, and graduate students.
