COVID-19 | Message from the Rector

Dear members of the Antonine University community,

The crisis instigated by COVID-19 is evolving at a hasty pace, which leaves us with delicate choices made of painful decisions and sacrifices. However, we continue to bear in mind a triple requirement:

    1. Never to compromise the health and safety of our students, teachers and administrative staff #UAresponsible
    2. Ensure quality academic service for all our students
    3. Optimize the financial resilience of our teachers and employees.

Dear students, last week we successfully set up several online courses, as our instructors managed to be present in the classrooms and deliver a number of lectures, taking advantage of the corporate connection available on the three campuses. However, following the decree adopted by the Government last night, the instructors were required to stay home, which caused the shared connection between subscribers to get significantly lower than that available on our campuses. Since we are not able to guarantee the effectiveness of the lessons delivered from the houses of the instructors, we have decided to cancel all the courses scheduled online for this week, until further notice.
In an endeavor to compensate for the forthcoming delays, we will have to reconsider our calendar for this semester and keep you informed of any future development. Our goal is to ensure that all students have the ability to complete, in the best possible conditions, the courses in which they are enrolled.

Dear faculty and administrative staff, these are tough times for each and every one of us. Your University will spare no effort to help you, however possible, overcome the challenges that lie ahead.
Though the doors of our campuses are closed and our online courses suspended, many of our activities can and must be sustained on schedule. These activities include our strategic planning, action plans, annual budget, the finalization of our new learning guides and the English version of our website, among others. Having prepared for the transition towards teleworking since the beginning of the crisis, UA should now benefit from the suspension of some of its activities so as to speed up others, and plan for an agile and vigorous recovery as soon as possible.
I would like to thank each and every one of you for your understanding and your precious collaboration in these unusual circumstances. I encourage you to be vigilant and take all necessary measures to deal with this complex situation.
Children of hope, let us trust in the benevolence of God throughout this ordeal. Let us remember that in our pilgrimage on this earth, we are neither alone nor abandoned. Let us constantly listen to the Lord reassuring us: "Do not be afraid!"
