On Thursday, February 25, 2020, a new webinar of the “InfoCom Thursdays” series took place thanks to the Faculty of Information and Communication. At the top of the bill that day, Ms. Muriel Aboulrouss, cinematographer and co-founder of the award-winning documentary web series “Zyara” and Mr. Elie Barakat, aka Noir Barakat, conceptual photographer and member of the “Zyara” family.

For about an hour, both unfolded the story of their professional and personal journeys without false modesty, showing once again to what extent both are intricately woven and impact one another. Successes, hiccups, boredom, happiness or drama... all stages of a life are, according to both speakers, the raw material from which truly personal and creative work emerges. Besides the accounts of these two professionals from the Lebanese audiovisual industry, the participants were fortunate enough to get, as a bonus, a small masterclass of photographic composition, given by Noir Barakat, which made their day.

This online session entitled “Artistic Approach and Maturity of a Visual Artwork,” was introduced by Dr. Dalal Moukarzel, Dean of the Faculty, and moderated by Dr. Daisy Boujaoudeh, Head of the Departments of Advertising and Graphic Design; it ended with a series of questions from the audience.
