The branch campuses councils are governance bodies established to assist campus directors and deans’ delegates in carrying out their duties. They have a range of responsibilities, starting with overseeing campus-related matters and supervising the implementation of strategic decisions made by the highest governing bodies, namely the UA Council and Administrative Council. Their primary responsibility is to establish short and long-term goals aimed at enhancing the student experience on campus and developing policies and procedures that align with UA’s mission and vision. Additionally, the branch campuses councils are tasked with creating a learning environment that reflects the University’s pursuit of excellence and implementing initiatives that foster intercultural interactions on campus. Lastly, the branch campuses councils play a crucial role in ensuring that faculty and administrative members are fully committed to UA’s strategic objectives, while also encouraging students to embody the core values promoted by the University.

The branch campuses councils convene at least twice per semester, following a predefined schedule. These meetings are chaired by the campus director and attended by administrative directors, deans’ delegates from the faculties or heads’ delegates from the departments, a representative of part-time faculty members, and a student representative.
