It was in front of students, teachers, and experts that Mr. Pierre Kamlé, Academic Director of the Department of Physical Therapy, explained the importance of the main topic. During his speech, he revealed that although using a wheelchair improves the lives of people with disabilities, sitting for long hours can generate organic brain disorders, hence the need to address the issues arising from this situation and comprehensively deal with them.

On the occasion, the Administrative Director of the Mjedlaya-Zgharta campus, Father Joseph Farah announced that the UA campus of Mejdlaya will soon launch two new specializations in the field of nursing and sports science, thus reaffirming the vocation of UA and its mission to be at the service of humanity.
Referring to the union of humankind and technology, Father Farah stressed the responsibility of everyone in raising awareness, especially among young people, of the need to alleviate and relieve the suffering of others.

Structured around four interventions, the conference was moderated respectively by Rola Tout, Norma Khodor, and Ziad Farah. It brought together four specialists who, each in turn, addressed the theme from a precise angle, thus making it possible to cover its multiple aspects while crossing approaches.
Dr. Ralph Karam discussed the urinary problems of people who suffer from paraplegia, while Mr. Marwan Abi Serhal of the Arcenciel Association described the different types of wheelchairs and how to select an appropriate one according to the patient's condition. For her part, Dr. Jeanine Matar addressed the assessment and the stages of the provision of wheelchair services.
