  • Round table on Challenges of Sport Organizations

    23 October 2018

On Tuesday, October 23, a roundtable talks on the "Challenges of Sports Organizations" took place at Antonine University. The main objective of this event was to promote the MBA [1] in "Sports Management", established by the Faculty of Sports Sciences (FSS) of UA since the beginning of the 2017-2018 academic year, and delivered in partnership with the Paris School of Business (ESG).

The interventions began with words of welcome from Dr. Zeina Mina, the Dean of the FSS, who took the opportunity to launch the new MBA class for this year, and then opened the debate with the speakers on the potential of work opportunities in the sports administration sector.
Mr. Jihad Salameh, an International and Regional Olympic Lecturer, presented in his speech the pyramid of the sports movement in Lebanon and its evolution. In his turn, Mr. Bassam Turk, founder and managing partner of "Sport Evasion", focused on the exploration of the sporting event world and its work prospects.
The round table was filled with testimonials, notably the one of Mr. Elie Rustom, captain of the Division 1 (D1) of the national basketball team. The captain is an engineering graduate enrolled in the MBA this year, and discussed his professional transition.
Mr. Patrick Bou Abboud, also a Division 1 basketball player who obtained his MBA diploma in sports management, shared his learning experience throughout his MBA. He emphasized the quality of the teaching provided at UA, as well as the caliber of French speakers. The positive feedback from D1 basketball players has led other colleagues such as Marwan Ziadé and Miguel Martinez to join the unprecedented MBA at UA’s FSS, intending to boost their future careers.
Finally, the students took part in the debates after the interventions. The occasion ended by granting the MBA to the first promotion of graduates.

[1] It should be underlined here that the MBA in "Sports Management" is addressed to everyone holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree and passionate about the world of sports.
