  • More than 800 New Students Celebrated the Start of the New Academic Year at UA

    17 September 2018

First-year students enrolled at Antonine University took part in the "Breakfast with the President" day held at UA stadium, at Hadat-Baabda main campus. Organized by the Office of the Registrar of the General Secretariat, the event allowed newcomers to meet in a friendly atmosphere, UA Rector, Deans, Directors, Faculty members, and administrative staff.
On this occasion, the Rector Father Michel Jalakh welcomed the new students and encouraged them to "take full advantage of their university life, to build connections and to create beautiful memories." He invited them, above all, to avoid transferring their differences to the campus but, on the contrary, to distill within their societies and communities the unifying spirit of UA, which "brings together young academics from different religious groups, regions, and ages."
In his speech, Father Jalakh highlighted the importance that UA gives to the human and cultural dimensions, encouraging all new students to contact the offices available at their disposal, in particular the Office of Relational Ecology.
The event, enlivened by the musical performance given by "The EEs" band, continued in a laid-back atmosphere. After screening a video on the AAQ accreditation of UA, the participants were invited to form a human mosaic to shape the University’s logo. The new students received a cup in the colors of UA and signed on the "Breakfast with the President 2018" signature wall before they left. A group of students from the Faculty of Engineering warmly hosted the event.
