IT Application Specialist (Hadat-Baabda Campus)

Position Summary

Develops, manages and troubleshoot computer programs. This include gathering business requirements from different university stakeholders, design and maintenance of business application, configuration, testing, etc. The candidate will participate in improvising the processes and assigned projects and might performs technical support when needed.

Main duties and responsibilities


  • Understand the application/area as it relates to assigned projects/tasks;
  • Handle complex application issues with different stakeholders, including IT department;
  • Participate in improvising the processes and assigned applications/projects;
  • Support and train end users;
  • Stay up to date with industry standard best practices/techniques related to Application development;
  • Communicate with stakeholders regularly on the progress and status of trouble tickets;
  • Perform analysis of tasks/issues reported & provide technical solutions;
  • Perform Unit/Integration testing, and supports system testing/UAT;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Basic

 

  • BA in Computer Sciences or related field. Computer Engineering is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience directly related to the specified main duties and responsibilities. Experience in a higher education institution is preferred.

 

Technical competencies

 

  • Hands-on knowledge and design experiences in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL; Dot Net is a plus;
  • Knowledge in Oracle, PeopleSoft and Dynamics 365 is a plus.

 

Skills & Competencies

 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to effectively interact with diverse population (students, staff members, etc.) and service oriented;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Fast learner and committed to deadlines;

Social Assistant (UA 3 campuses)

The Social Affairs Office at Antonine University is looking for a self-motivated Social Assistant who takes pride in providing exception quality of work and student service, to join the Social Affairs team.
In this position, the Social Assistant is responsible for accompanying students to promote their social integration and success at the university in its three campuses, Hadath-Baabda, Zahle-Bekaa and Mejdlaya-Zgharta. He / She provides support to students and parents regarding the social and financial aid process in conformity with the social affairs office’s policies, regulations and eligibility requirement.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Ensures individual and social follow-up of students (interviews, listening sessions, phone calls, etc.);
  • Documents interviews, and evaluate the relevance of information collected to the issue described by the student/parents;
  • Coordinates the social affairs services and activities at the UA three campuses (Hadath-Baabda, Zahle and Mejdlaya) in collaboration with the Social Affairs Director;
  • Coordinates with different UA departments to assess their needs and implement actions for students/community projects;
  • Follows-up on students’ social fund (files management, financial follow-up, students’ responses, files classification...);
  • Participates in the issuance of the office yearly reports;
  • Assists in the Student Volunteering Program, when requested;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Basic

  • Master’s degree with focus on Social Sciences, Psychology, Sociology or any related fields;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience directly related to the specified main duties and responsibilities. Experience in a higher education institution is preferred.

  • Weekly working schedule: from Monday to Friday on the following basis: 2 days at Hadath-Baabda, 2 days at Zahle-Bekaa and 1 day at Mejdlaya-Zgharta campus.
  • Travel required: the candidate is required to use his own vehicle for local traveling toward UA 3 campuses (Specific transportation compensation is provided for each campus).
  • The candidate needs to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

IT Support Officer (Hadat-Baabda Campus)

Position Summary

Responsible for providing assistance to UA internal stakeholders: students, faculty and staff members concerning their IT needs. He will assist in the day-to-day support operations as well as ongoing projects.


Main duties and responsibilities

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners.
  • Maintaining computer systems and networks;
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests;
  • Providing technical support across the organization (on site or phone
  • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary;
  • Performing electrical safety checks on computers, projectors, and other equipment;
  • Following instructions, either written or in diagram form, in order to set up a system or fix a fault;
  • Performing any other related duties as assigned.

 

Basic

  • B.S in Computer Science or any related fields;
  • Minimum of one year of experience directly related to the specified main duties and responsibilities. Experience in a higher education institution is preferred

Technical Knowledge

 

  • Knowledge of most operating system installation (Windows Server 2003, 2008, XP, Seven and eight, MAC OSX, Linux…)
  • Knowledge of most Microsoft software installation (SQL Server, Team foundation Server, visual studio …)
  • Knowledge of virtual environments (VMWARE, Hyper-V)
  • Knowledge of common software installation (Packet tracer, 3D Max, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Mat Lab….)
  • Knowledge in networking (routers, switches, access points and cabling)
  • Knowledge in web filtering and firewalls.
