Program Objectives
  • Provide professionals with an in-depth and multidisciplinary understanding of aging, covering medical, psychological, and social aspects.
  • Develop critical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills in addressing complex geriatric issues, by encouraging a curious and creative approach to both theory and practice.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Specialized Diploma in Gerontology Nursing, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Sciences or an equivalent recognized degree;
  • submit a complete academic file subject to review and evaluation;
  • successfully complete an admission interview assessing the candidate’s motivation and aptitude to pursue the program.

Evaluation Process

The evaluation system for student learning outcomes is based on assessment components presented, according to the types of courses offered, as follows:

  • Component 1, weighted at 30%: continuous assessment (class activities, quizzes, assignments, oral presentations, group work, etc.);
  • Component 2, weighted at 30%: knowledge assessment test (anonymous midterm evaluation conducted during a teaching session);
  • Component 3, weighted at 40%: final project or final examination.


The passing grade for all graduate-level courses is set at 70/100.
